Tips for Spring Newborn Photoshoots
For parents, your baby’s first photos are very special. For babies born between late March and mid-June, a spring photoshoot is a must! Newborn photography is near and dear to my heart, so I wanted to give new parents some tips and ideas to make the most of your spring session.
Tip #1: Keep It Simple
You and your baby are still getting used to each other, so it’s best to keep pictures simple. Choosing to take newborn photos at your home or another familiar location is likely for the best. The spring weather might be enticing, but don’t do anything out of your or your newborn’s comfort zone. Additionally, try not to stress too much about the details, and let your photographer do the work! Your job is to focus on your baby.
Tip #2 Incorporate Spring Colors & Props
Spring is one of the best times for a newborn photoshoot. There are so many fun color schemes to choose from! Try to incorporate pink, green, blue, yellow, or purple pastels, or go a more neutral route with muted shades of these colors or beige. Add flowers or a stuffed animal, such as a bear or bunny, to bring an especially cute and springtime feel to your newborn pictures.
Tip #3 Stick To Natural Poses
Let your baby lead the show! Your little one already does the most adorable poses, and that’s what we’re aiming to take photos of. Natural newborn poses can guide the entire shoot, whether you’re in the picture or not. This will make you and your baby most comfortable and lead to the best photos being taken.
Tip #4 Get the Family Involved
Of all my photography tips for newborn shoots, this one will make your photos turn out the most precious. I love to capture the bond between babies and their parents or siblings on camera, so get the family involved if you can! These memories are meant to last a lifetime, and you’ll want to make the most of it. Ready to book a newborn baby photography session? Get in touch.
