Spring Photoshoot Tips
We just sprung ahead this weekend, which means the days are getting longer and the weather is even more beautiful every day! Spring is a great time to plan a family shoot because you know that the sun will be shining and there are so many lovely colors you can highlight.
Once you have selected a photographer and booked a shoot, it’s time to decide what you are going to wear. While I love bright yellows and oranges all seasons, you can also pair these with pastel colors in the rest of the family. Bright and fresh colors fit perfectly with the spring vibes.
Flowers and Greenery
Nothing says spring more than the fresh green of grass growing and flowers blooming. Bringing a fresh floral arrangement or picking a location based on what grows in the area can all allude the gorgeous elements of spring. In my local Northwest Florida area, I have spent years scoping out the best areas in each season. When clients come to me with a vision for their photos, I am quick to suggest a few locations that will be a great fit.
Bubbles
Bringing a bubble gun or wand to a photo session can be a great way to keep the little ones entertained and add an element of whimsy to the shoot. Bubble create additional fun and bring out great smiles on everyone’s faces.
Colors
As I always say, make sure your outfits complement the setting, but don’t try to get too matchy-matchy. If you are struggling to pick a location or which outfits to wear, look around your home. Decide which colors and styles you are currently loving and pick a setting that will lend to those design choices. These photos will become a feature in your home, so it is great when they can fit in.
Rain
April showers, they say. While I’m not sure that’s as true down here in sunny Florida, there is so much beauty in those rainy days. With clear or colorful umbrellas, you can bring some whimsy and romance to your photos.
Spring Break
For families who are coming down here for spring break, this is a great time to hire a local photographer in the Destin and Fort Walton Beach areas. I am familiar with all the best spots and timing for photos so you can be sure it will be a family vacation to remember.
